Dinner @ City Lobster & Steak
Apps: Calamari, Spring Rolls, Tuna Tartare, Ravioli
- Everything was to perfection. But the all-star of the night was the ravioli - they were amazing. I not particularly a fan of mushrooms, but the mix of lobster, mushrooms and pecorino made for a great surprise.
Entree: Crab legs
- Being possibly allergic to lobster I went for the crab legs which ended up being phenomenal. The legs were huge, full of flavor and kept me pretty satisfied.
NYC Restaurant Week - Spot #2: Fig & Olive
Crostini Tasting #1: Prosciutto, Ricotta, Fig, Olive, Walnut - Amazing.
Crostini Tasting #2: Shrimp, Avocado, Cilantro, Tomato - I think was expecting something different.
App: Beer Carpaccio - First time and definitely won’t be my last.
Entree: Pumpkin Sage Ravioli - At first glance, I questioned my choice. How could 3 ravioli be satisfying? Boy, was I wrong, those things were phenomenal. Perfect mix of flavors. (It was so good, I would have licked my plate if I was alone)
Dessert: Crostini - I’m a softy for shortbread
Burger & Gnocchi @ Jane
I’m so happy we all split the gnocchi because I would have felt like a fat a$$ ordering it as an entree, even though I TOTALLY would have. It was definitely one of the better gnocchi dishes I’ve had in a while.
The burger on the other hand was alright, nothing really special about it. I’m still sold that Little Owl has the best burger in our area.
@SimplySeema working her magic @KitchenSurfing yesterday! It was incredible!

Amazing event again. Unfortunately no leftovers, but we still remember the great food. We had yesterday our second dinner event with Seema Shah, who is as many other chef a self-taught cook and passionate about making meals from various cuisines healthy and colorful. About 20 people celebrated the delicious food Seema was cooking and the yummy Manhattan Drinks made by Lars. It was a great evening with a lot of smiles and we are looking forward to repeat this…may be in two weeks. Seema is a certified holistic health coach and chocolatier that has taken various culinary classes in New York City. She uses her extensive knowledge in health and nutrition and applies it to her dishes. Check out her website www.simplyseema.com

Seema’s Indian Feast @KitchenSurfing
I’ve always known that Seema was a great cook, but this was amazing. I LOVE phav bhaji and my mom would always make it. So, this meal took me back home.
App: Cilantro Potato Chutney Crunch
Main Course: Phav Bhaji w/ Colorful Avocado Kale Salad
Dessert: Cinnamon Chocolate Oat Cookies w/ Lemon Ginger Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
After Meal Mint: Paan
Cajun Mac & Cheese @ S’Mac
On the hunt to try all of the mac & cheese NY has to offer…
The spot is cool, small, and continuously packed with people. My mac & cheese was good but a little soggy towards the bottom of the pot - it might have been from the vegetables. Regardless it was good, and it’s been added to my “Visiting NY List.”
Rice To Riches = Not for the skinny at heart.
Omgoodness, I’m not really a fan of dessert, but I’ve got a soft spot for rice pudding. Yes, this place may be on the steep side of your wallet and it’s not the best for those watching their cholesterol. But, holy smokes… this place is an amazing idea especially for those wanting to spoil themselves.
